Dhaka Neuroscience Summit-2016
Dhaka Neuroscience Summit-2016, first of its kind in Bangladesh, held at Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) Foundation in the capital on Saturday. Honorable Health Minister Mr. Mohammad Nasim was supposed to inaugurate the event but due to unavoidable reason he was absent and in a message expressed hope for the summit.
Former Health Minister Dr. AFM Ruhul Haque MP was present as the guest of honor in the summit while Organizing Secretary of BMA, Uttam Kumar Barua, was the special guest. Prof. Dr. R. N. Bhattacharya, Former President of Neurological Society India and Professor of AMRI Hospital, spoke among others in the event. Prof. Mazar E Shamim of BSMMU, Dr. Narayan Chandra Kundu, Dr. Subhagata Choudhury, discussed over the treatment and rehabilitation of country’s neuro patients. In his speech, Event Secretary Professor Dr. A.S.M Kamrul Hasan, said, the aim of the summit is to make patients, doctors and people concerned to health institutions, aware of recent updates of Neuroscience and its status as well as future opportunities in Bangladesh.
Besides, Dr. Shahjada Selim, Dr. Sayed Atiqul Haq, Dr. Helal Uddin Ahmed, Brig. Gen. (Rtd.) Dr. Muhammed Showkat Ali spoke in the event. Maj. Gen. Jiban Kanai Das (Retd.), Head of Operations- Bangladesh, Sir William Beverage and Prof. Dr. Shamanta Lal Sen also took part in the discussion. In the day-long summit, it was highlighted that how the common people can be aware of the neuro diseases and can receive the modern treatment with rehabilitation.
